Solo/Ensemble Singing Classes at YSC

Class Description

Solo/Ensemble Classes are open to anyone within the age group. All abilities are welcome. We
do fun and skill-building vocal warm-ups, scales and diction exercises each week.  Additionally
we sing through a set of themed songs (Broadway, Holiday, Disney, etc.) and students receive
a CD and lyrics of the selected songs on the first day of class which they use to practice with
at home.

After the singers have become familiar with the songs, they select a solo and a group song.
They all perform their solos in front of each other every week and get more and more
comfortable and skilled.  As the students progress each week, they not only improve in vocal
technique, but also in poise and expression.

The classes are a great confidence builder. Not only do the children learn as they perform their
own solo, but also as they observe and listen to each other in a safe and encouraging
environment.

We end our session with a recital - a performance where each student sings a solo, each class
sings a group number, and the choirs perform as well - to celebrate the accomplishments and
to give the singers an opportunity to perform at a special location.

How do you sign up?  Just go to
